Thailand - Floods (ECHO 20 May 2022)

  • From 15 to 18 May, floods were reported across northern Thailand, specifically in the provinces of Phrae, Lampang, Nan, Uttaradit, Phayao and Nakhon Ratchasima.
  • According to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), almost 300 households have been affected in total. A number of road sections, bridges and houses sustained damage due to floodwaters. 
  • Heavy rainfall was also reported in Bangkok Capital City, as up to 125.8 mm of rain was recorded in 24 hours on 17 May at the Bang Na weather station.
  • On 20-21 May, moderate to locally heavy rainfall with strong winds are forecast over most of Thailand.
