Jalisco and Colima, Mexico, Late June 2022Severe weather including heavy rain and thunder storms affected the states of Jalisco and Colima in Mexico from 26 June. Heavy rain triggered flooding in the Metropolitan Areas of Guadalajara early on 28 June, leaving vehicles stranded. Civil Protection and local media reported one person died as a result. Stormy weather also affected the state of Colima, where one person died after being struck by lightning in Comala. Stormy seas also caused problems and 15 people were rescued by lifeguards. Civil Protection reported material damages in coastal areas of Armería municipality.
